2 Chainz Before He Was Famous – 2 Chainz Age, Height & Songs
Before They Were Famous
BEFORE his debut studio album Based on a T.R.U. Story debuted at number one on the US Billboard 200.
BEFORE he picked up the award of Rookie Of The Year from BET in 2012 at the age of 35.
BEFORE he would make guests appearance on tracks with literally everyone else in the game. Seriously – he worked with everyone from Chingy to Justin Beiber to Psy and more credible acts like Kanye West, Wiz Khalifa and Drake.
BEFORE he would be arrested multiple times in 2013 for possession of marijuana amongst other charges.
Before he was robbed and shot that same year.
I suppose the gunman figured, the man only needs one chain and could give away the other.
2 Chainz (AKA Tity Boi) Before He Was Famous
2 Chainz didn’t get his big break in the music industry until he reached his mid 30′s, previously he had been rolling in a group known as Playaz Circle and 2 Chainz was known as Tity Boi, a name he got due to his upbringing of sucking from his mothers teet. Previous to this, he attended Alabama State University where he was a stand out basketball player and a model student with a 4.0 GPA.
My name is Michael McCrudden documenting the life of 2 Chainz prior to fame, here for you on Before They Were Famous.
2 Chainz Age (how old is 2 chainz)
2 Chainz was born Tauheed Epps on September 12, 1976 in College Park, Georgia. 2 Chainz was the only child with his father in and out of prison throughout his childhood, so his mother practically raised him alone.
She also was a huge supporter in breast feeding her baby boy, a story that would influence his early career and likely have been a factor in delaying his progress.
His parents raised him with conflicting ideals, his dad would call him from prison doing what he could to toughen up his son, but his mother would put down his father and tell young Tauheed not to pay any attention to those lessons.
2 Chainz High School
He attended North Clayton High School and witnessed the success of R&B Singer Monica going from a girl he saw in the school hallways to a girl in music videos and at award shows.
2 Chainz Height (how tall is 2 chainz)
Standing at 6 foot 5, joining the basketball team was a no-brainer for Tauheed and he became a standout star. As a 10th-grader, Epps was the star sixth man for North Clayton High in College Park By his senior year, he was a legitimate Division 1 recruit who would later receive an athletic scholarship to Alabama State University
In 1997, back in high school Tauheed hooked up with Earl Conyers, who went by the name Dolla Boy and the two formed their own rap group known as Playaz Circle. This was an acronym for Preparing Legal Assets for Years from A to Z. translation – We wanted to make a ‘legal’ hustle, stay out of jail and stay out of the grave. This is where he adopted the name Tity Boi.
Playaz Circle began pooling their money and recording indie releases titled United We Stand, United We Fall and their hustle got them in contact with a local radio DJ Chris Bridges, who went by the name Chris Lova Lova, but later Ludacris.
But for now Tity Boi had a basketball and school to focus on and graduated from ASU after 4 years with a 4.0 GPA. Following the completion of school, Ludacris had figured out the rap game and was blowing up with his anthem ‘Rollout’. But things weren’t going as well for Playaz Circle with Dolla Boy getting locked up for 2 years and Tity Boi got shot in a dodgy housing complex.
When Ludacris heard of their bad luck, he reached out to them and signed them to his Disturbing Tha Peace family. When Dolla got out they got out, they got to work.
Tity Boi and Dolla Boy recorded “Play Pen to the State Pen” for DTP’s first outing, Golden Grain (2002) but DTP executives were not very eager to release any of the duo’s music through its Def Jam partnership so, the two continued to release straight-to-street albums and mixtapes.
Following this route they dropped “Duffle Bag Boy,” featuring Lil Wayne and in the summer of 2007 this song blew up. The next year they would drop, their debut album, Supply and Demand (2007) and the next year Strength in Numbers.
But then things grew quiet for Tity Boi again – in 2011 after some reflection he decided a name change might open him up to more opportunity so he went with 2 Chainz, he also decided to go at it solo.
Following the name change, he released a mixtape entitled T.R.U. REALigion, and began making numerous guest appearances on tracks with heavy hitters including Kanye West on (“Mercy by Kanye West 2 Chainz Youtube“) and Nicki Minaj on “Beez in the Trap – Nikki Minaj 2 Chainz“.
On March 24, 2012, Epps announced his debut studio album, Based on a T.R.U. Story and The album’s lead single “No Lie Youtube“, featuring Drake blew up.
